Ischia – a marvel to be discovered

They were already known of in the times of the Romans and today they are celebrated all over the world – the Sorgeto baths – one of those miracles which are only possible on an island which has great thermal energy. Both in summer and in the winter the water in the Bay is very hot, because subterranean spring pools gush to the surface creating natural pools where it is possible to bathe in all seasons.
Yet Sorgeto Bay, beside which Hotel Villa Maralisa is located, is certainly not the only place for natural wellbeing on the island…
There are hundreds of thermal water springs on Ischia and you will find, in each of the six communes, numerous spa facilities, thermal gardens and temples to wellbeing where the hot subterranean water is exploited for health and beauty treatments.

And then, Ischia is not just thermal baths. It is a territory that is so vast and diversified that it lends itself to whatever type of holiday you desire, including ecological tours in the woods and the mountains and cultural trips to the old historical centres of communes and hamlets, of which there are really very many indeed, each of which with its own peculiar characteristics: Ischia Porto, Ischia ponte, Casamicciola, Lacco Ameno, Forio, Panza, Sant’Angelo, Serrara and Fontana, not forgetting Barano, Buonopane and Campagnano. There are long days to be spent by the sea. Only if you stay for an entire month will you manage to see all the beaches on the island, its little creeks, the bays, the great underwater wealth of the sea bed.
What is more, the island also offers exclusive shopping, specialized wines and food, culture, entertainment and social evenings to be lived to the full.
